Green packaging is not popular

tablet computers are packed with ordinary cardboard, notebook computers are packed with honeycomb cardboard, and most products of IKEA are packed with corrugated cardboard, while color TVs and refrigerators are still packed with foamed plastic materials. It is understood that although the use of green and environmentally friendly honeycomb cardboard has become a general trend, the disappearance of EPS foamed plastic materials may still take some time. In recent years, the global low-carbon environmental storm has spread to the packaging field. EPS foamed plastic, namely expandable polystyrene (EPS), is a mixture of resin, physical foaming agent and other additives. In recent years, although the foaming process of foamed plastic products has had an impact on the structure and properties of polylactic acid microcellular foaming products, butane has replaced freon as the foaming agent, the residual butane in the foaming process will still have an adverse impact on the environment and workers' health. Therefore, the European Union and other countries and regions have successively formulated strict restrictions and regulations on wood pallets, wood packaging boxes, EPS foamed plastics and adhesives, printing inks, coatings and other packaging materials, auxiliary materials and packaging waste. Among them, the prohibition of the use of EPS foamed plastic liners has forced Chinese enterprises to eliminate foamed plastics in the packaging of exported household appliances and use honeycomb paperboard instead, so some beer manufacturers have targeted plastic packaging materials and environmental protection liners. According to the person in charge of an enterprise specializing in the production line of honeycomb paperboard in Zhejiang Province, the honeycomb valve only acts as a safety valve. The honeycomb paperboard is a new environmental protection and energy-saving material with a sandwich structure composed of high-strength honeycomb paper core and various high-strength kraft paper. It has the advantages of low cost, less materials, sound absorption and heat insulation, high strength, good impact resistance and so on. Honeycomb paperboard is made of recycled paper, which can replace wood and can be recycled after use. Under the situation that the packaging of household electrical appliances tends to be green and environmentally friendly, some well-known household electrical appliance manufacturers in China took the lead in eliminating EPS foamed plastic liners in export packaging, and promoted the use of honeycomb paperboard liners, which achieved good results. According to statistics, Gree air conditioner took the lead in using honeycomb paperboard to pack air conditioners a few years ago. A production line needs 3000 sets of honeycomb paperboard liners every day and 20million cubic meters of honeycomb paperboard every year. Following the packaging of air conditioners with honeycomb paperboard materials, other household appliances also began to involve honeycomb paperboard. In 2002, Sichuan Changhong took honeycomb paperboard as the main material, combined with paper corner protection and pulp molding, and replaced EPS foamed plastic and wooden pallets. It has gradually formed a green packaging solution for Changhong brand air-conditioning color TV, rear projection, audio-visual and other household appliances. Other large and medium-sized enterprises, such as Shunde Meiyi, Guangzhou Mitsubishi, Galanz, which produces microwave ovens, Shenzhen Zhongkang, which produces picture tubes, Foshan color picture tube factory and so on, have become users of honeycomb paperboard. According to statistics, China's packaging industry consumes more than 100million cubic meters of EPS foamed plastic every year, with an economic value of about 30-40 billion yuan; At the same time, using a ton of honeycomb paperboard can reduce the consumption of solid materials by about 40 cubic meters. Based on the annual wood consumption of 100million cubic meters in China, if 20% of it is replaced by honeycomb materials, 20million cubic meters of wood will be saved. Market promotion is facing embarrassment. Promoting honeycomb paperboard packaging to replace toxic and harmful foamed plastics and expensive wood packaging is not only energy-saving and emission reduction, but also green and environmental protection, which has far-reaching social and economic benefits. It is reasonable to say that it is not difficult to promote the application in China. However, the main disadvantages of these two transmission methods are still used in the packaging of a considerable number of products: the former requires regular lubrication to soak plastic and wood. According to an article written by a person in the packaging industry, the head of the technology and Quality Department of a well-known domestic household appliance enterprise said that the company had stopped the work of replacing foamed plastic liners with honeycomb paperboard for some domestic household appliances, because the packaging cost increased after replacing foamed honeycomb paperboard, which affected the economic benefits of the enterprise. The person in charge of technology and quality said that the average EPS foam plastic liner used in the original washing machine was about 22 yuan per set, but after being replaced by honeycomb paperboard, it cost an average of 27 yuan per set. According to the calculation of 10million sets of washer liners per year, the cost of this product alone will increase by 50million yuan. If you add the increased packaging cost of 3.6 million refrigerators, the total annual packaging cost will increase by nearly 70million yuan. Although the packaging cost has increased, the increased cost has not been passed on to consumers. On the one hand, it has made contributions to low-carbon and environmental protection, but on the other hand, it has reduced the economic benefits of enterprises. The person said that as far as he knows, a household appliance enterprise in the South has also done the work of replacing EPS foamed plastic with honeycomb paperboard liner on a few varieties of household appliances such as washing machines and air conditioners. After promotion, it was found that the packaging cost has increased a lot, affecting economic benefits. Therefore, the company has stopped the packaging improvement work on domestic products, and changed the honeycomb paperboard liner to EPS foaming plastic liner. The relevant person in charge of the above two enterprises said that in the domestic market, the use of honeycomb paperboard packaging reflects the enterprise's response to China's economic development policy of low-carbon and environmental protection and the enterprise concept of being negative to society. However, the cost of improving packaging, without passing on to consumers, has reduced the economic benefits of the enterprise and affected the enthusiasm of household appliance enterprises to make efforts for low-carbon and environmental protection. The person said with regret. Some consumers believe that enterprises should respond to the call of the state for low-carbon environmental protection to improve packaging. The state should allocate some funds to encourage enterprises to improve packaging, rather than being borne by enterprises and consumers. At present, the developed countries in the world have formulated financial incentive policies for low-carbon environmental protection technology. The UK has implemented low-carbon environmental protection and energy saving plans in the manufacturing field of packaging machinery such as plastic bottles, and provided technology start-up funds for innovative enterprises. Industry insiders believe that at present, China has not formulated corresponding incentive policies for low-carbon environmental protection and energy-saving packaging innovation technology, which is very detrimental to the healthy development of the improvement and innovation of low-carbon environmental protection packaging technology that has been and is being carried out by the packaging industry and its downstream packaging users. If the incentive policies are not issued in time, it will lead to the premature death of packaging improvement and technological innovation
